Food Safety Tips for those Recovering from Wildfires, Other Fire Devastation

Due to the potential threat from flames–like those recently caused by a ruptured gas line explosion in a San Bruno, Calif. neighborhood or the 6,427-acre wildfire that destroyed 166 homes in the foothills west of Boulder, Colo.–USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is issuing recommendations to minimize the likelihood of foodborne illness during the recovery or clean-up phase after a fire.
